Katie Geis - About
Owner of KJG Fine Art and Artist behind the work...
Originally from California, I now call Milwaukee, Wisconsin home. As a live event painter specializing in weddings, I have the privilege of traveling across the United States and Europe, capturing love and celebration in real time. My work has brought me into collaboration with some of the most respected names in the event industry, an honor that continually inspires and shapes my artistic journey.
Beyond the excitement of event paintings, my personal work centers on landscapes and florals—subjects that speak deeply to my childhood memories and my enduring connection to the natural world. I work primarily in oil, acrylic, and watercolor, mediums that allow me to explore the delicate balance between permanence and ephemerality. There’s a certain poetry in the fleeting nature of flowers and changing skies, a beauty that’s here for a moment and then gone. It’s that transience I strive to honor in every brushstroke.
At the heart of my creative practice is my Christian faith. I believe art is a gift from God, and I feel called to use the talents He’s given me to bring beauty and joy into the lives of others. Whether capturing the intimacy of a wedding day or the stillness of a blooming field, I paint with the hope of reflecting a deeper truth—that these moments are glimpses of something eternal, a celebration that we will one day fully experience in heaven.
I’m also a wife to a kind and supportive husband, and a mother to three young children who fill our home with energy and wonder. Together, we spend our days exploring the outdoors, tending to our garden, and enjoying all things nature, creativity, and sports. It’s a full and joyful life, and all of it informs the way I see and paint the world around me.
