KATIE GEIS - About

Owner of KJG Fine Art and Artist behind the work...

Coming up on a decade in business, Katie Geis is established in the wedding scene as a preferred live event painter. Her extensive background painting for hundreds of events has given her exposure to many different gatherings, from luxury weddings, to corporate celebrations, and everything in between. She has recently begun offering her services internationally and has built repertoire across Italy and Europe with leading luxury wedding planners.

Her style leans towards loose impressionism for both her event paintings, and personal pieces. She is especially drawn to the way light plays a role in drastically enhancing it’s subject, extracting stunning and unexpected colors. Her work is timeless and elegant, with paintings full of color, delicate movement, and authentic emotion. Her mediums of choice vary between watercolors, oils, or acrylics. As one who loves to constantly learn new forms of work, she’s developed a distinct style in each.

She has a keen sense of interpreting and developing her client’s ideas and vision. She loves to collaborate with couples to create a completely personalized bespoke painting.

Katie is outgoing, friendly, and full of energy. She divides her time between work and her three lovely children. However, she never misses an opportunity to enjoy life at its finest: travelling to exquisite venues, savoring amazing food and espresso, relaxing with yoga, and, of course, tending to her garden filled with flowers!

Philosophy –

“Oftentimes, when I’m live painting at events, a guest will look at my work and comment, “There’s no way I could do that.” To which I respond, “Then you must be talented elsewhere.” And I believe it. We all enter this world with a unique set of God-given talents and abilities. For me, that’s painting, for others it might be the way you articulate your words, or the selflessness you show to those around you. It’s all beautiful in its own way. The ultimate fulfillment for me is to use these gifts given me to spread God’s love and kindness to others.

While art can be appealing to the eye, it also generates a myriad of emotions. It’s a unifier, an ameliorating agent, it can satisfy a nostalgic heart. Or simply, it can make you happy. That’s my aim. My work is meant to bring joy.”
