PAINT

I’ve always taken a keen interest in loose and colorful Impressionist and Fauvist artists such as Cezanne, Renoir and Raoul Dufy. Taking inspiration from these classic artists, I’ve created a style that blends the two eras with my own unique twist.

I perceive events through this lens, entwining the tangible details of the day in an ethereal and indistinct fashion. Color and mood play a major role in the end product. When all is complete, you are given a piece that brings the day to life, through a cherished piece of art.

To be able to capture love and your most intimate moments is the highest honor knowing that this will be a family heirloom. I would love to paint for you too, and will travel anywhere to do so!

What’s included:

  • One on one consultation prior to your big day, where we discuss every little detail for your piece. Can be via email or phone.

  • 6-8 hours onsite painting at your reception venue

  • Entertainment and interaction experiences for your guests, especially the kiddos. I like to let them make a couple brush strokes!

  • A one of a kind memento of your day, glazed with the sides painted, ready to hang.

  • A photo of your piece to use on thank you cards or to make copies for family.

I’m also available for galas, special occasions, birthday parties, and whatever else you think needs to be painted!

If I’m not available for your date, I’m happy to offer alternatives, or do a floral painting to capture your bouquet! See galleries for examples.

If this is something you’d like to add to your day, let’s get the ball rolling! You can fill out the form below.

Q+A’s

  • Once you've booked me for your date, you are welcome to provide me with any ideas and inspiration for your painting. As the date approaches, I will reach out to gather the details I need for the piece. On the wedding day, I will arrive to the reception site a couple hours early to get settled and begin the composition before guests arrive.

As guests begin to arrive, I start adding the important details, creating the atmosphere of the evening. Typically I am painting the bride and groom's first dance, or their ceremony/reception venue with them included. You can decide whether you would like to have your guests painted in or left out as well as the pose you'd like to be painted in.

I stay until the painting is complete and can be displayed where you choose. If need be, typically for larger pieces, I will bring it home to do touch-ups. We then find a way to deliver to ship it back to you.

My style is more impressionistic with loose brushstrokes and vivid color. I aim for an expression of the event more than a realistic painting. I offer watercolor or acrylic mediums. Examples of each are below

  • Painting live creates a memorable and unique experience for the people attending the wedding. It's something they can keep coming back to to see how it progresses throughout the night. You are left with a piece of art that captures the feel and emotion of your most special day.

  • Milwaukee, Wisconsin, just north of Chicago, is home. I make time throughout the year to spend in Italy, Spain, and Switzerland. This allows me to offer my live painting services at a competitive rate all over Europe as well.

To keep it sweet and simple, any travel expenses within Europe are included in the quote I provide. I book all of my own travel plans and accommodations, so you don’t have to worry about it!

  • Of course! Weddings are my most popular, but I'm always up for something else. I've done plenty of corporate events, galas, and fundraisers. While I enjoy weddings, I also love mixing it up. I've even done a live virtual painting in front of 800 people!

  • The set-up is quick and simple. Typically, I bring a portable wooden easel to the wedding reception, my paints, water jars and brushes, and a basket/bag to hold excess materials. I never want my area to look cluttered, therefore I take precautions to ensure my materials do not clash with the wedding atmosphere, or decorations. Typically, I ask that you mention to the venue to provide a covered high top table for me.

  • From an early age I've always been attracted to light and the ambiance it creates in a space. The different moods a room can assume has always fascinated me. I'm also drawn to moments of pure joy. To watch as a couple celebrates their lifelong commitment to each other surrounded by their closest friends and family is such a treat. It is an honor to be able to capture this as an artist and I find so much fulfillment in providing people with a spontaneous and true reflection of their fondest moments.

  • All of my materials are archival and museum quality, so that your painting is heirloom quality. Watercolors are created on cold-press archival cotton paper with Daniel Smith or Windsor & Newton watercolor paint, and acrylic paintings are created on stretched cotton canvas with Golden artist acrylic paint and Winsor & Newton professional acrylic paint.

Framing is not needed for the acrylic paintings as they are done on canvas. When finished, the painting can be hung directly onto the wall. Watercolor paintings will need framing and recommendations are available upon request.

  • Typically they provide me with a covered hightop table that I set my supplies on or I will bring my own table. If need be, I am placed near to an outlet so that I can light my painting when it gets dark. I can also bring a portable light with my own battery.

  • The investment to hire me to paint at your wedding varies depending on size, date, and location, typically ranging between $3,500-7,000

  • Weddings, corporate events, rehearsal dinners, galas, you name it!

  • I’m open to alternate ideas for the subject matter! One of my favorite alternatives is painting your bridal bouquet using impasto technique! For examples of this, check out my floral paintings.

  • If you’re looking for something petite to go on a smaller wall, the 16x20” is a great option. You can make it look bigger by adding a matte and frame. 18x24” is a versatile option as it can go on a smaller wall or be matted and framed to display on a larger wall. The 24x30” is my favorite size to paint, it just flows for me and is big enough to make a statement at your wedding and in your home. Lastly, the 24x36” and the 30x40” are statement sizes. If you’re looking to create a focal point in the room, here it is! These sizes may require extra touch ups post event which are included in your cost.
